Viking warriors became a real obsession on the battlefields of the Middle Ages.

Fierce Viking warriors are known for their ability to fight with a seemingly uncontrollable rage. They can fight fiercely and plunder if given the opportunity.

Among the Vikings, however, there was a class of warriors more fearsome. That is the Viking Berserker army.

Based on Norse legend, folklore, and history, the Berserkers are described as a class of very violent Viking warriors who worshiped Odin (the supreme god in Norse mythology), capable of crazy fighting. Accordingly, these warriors often frantically attack with rage and very scary faces.

The fighting ability of this army was so great that it became a horror for many countries in the Middle Ages. Fighting with “heavenly” fury, this Viking army often didn’t even wear armor and only wore bear or wolf skin cloaks when fighting to intimidate the enemy. Sometimes, they were naked in battle, plunging themselves into brutal killing and looting.

Some historians also say that perhaps the Viking Berserker warriors chose to wear a cloak made of animal skin because they believed that they could harness the power of the animal.

Once in battle, these warriors will begin to explode with rage, grit their teeth, their faces turn fierce, rush to fight, killing anything in their path and seem to be can not control.

According to ancient Norse legend, there seems to be no weapon that can break the hypnotized state of this army. These warriors are described as attacking with swords and are immune to fire, fighting even if they are injured.

Berserker’s fearsome fighting ability also surprised many people, both terrified and hated them.

Berserker’s fearsome combat ability and frantic demeanor have given rise to mixed opinions.

The fighting ability of the Berserker warriors was indeed ferocious. Many people think they may have fallen into a state of self-hypnosis to the point of forgetting the physical pain of fighting.

While some researchers believe that the Berserker warriors may have only driven themselves “crazy” by falling into a self-hypnotic state before fighting, others suggest that they may have using magic, getting drunk, or ingesting a stimulant, such as a poisonous mushroom (in small amounts, is not lethal) to induce hallucinations.

In addition, there are many mysterious theories surrounding the power of this violent army. For example, some scholars believe that the Vikings may have believed in spiritual possession. They often wear wolf or bear skins to intimidate their enemies, drinking the blood of animals they want to possess.

When not fighting, Berserkers are still known as bloodthirsty warriors when often killing their allies.

According to historical records in Norway and Iceland, the infamous Berserker Viking warriors completely disintegrated in the 12th century. Even so, their brutality and “crazy” fighting ability and mystery remained. It is also an obsession in world history.
